“How can we create beautiful clothing true to our beliefs?” was the question that led us—three sisters named Alesandra, Sarah and Kate—to found ASK Apparel in the spring of 2006.

ASK Apparel creates beautiful, functional clothing and accessories using organic fibers and natural dyes. We root our work in the soil of the city we now call home, Nashville, TN. We grow and gather our own dye materials, work with farmers to cultivate natural dye plants on a larger scale, and design and use minimal-waste systems for producing our clothing lines. We help to nurture a just and green economy by partnering with local and regional non-profits, farmers, and businesses, seeking out organic or local materials wherever we can. We draw inspiration from nature—from the colors, forms and relationships that create and sustain this beautiful world. We pattern ourselves on healthy, human-scale systems—communities and economies that are able to solve problems creatively and nourish themselves physically and spiritually. We gain sustenance from taking part in a living tradition that directly and intimately connects us, and the clothing we make, with the earth—and with you. We hope you will join us as we strive to ask the right questions, wear the right answers.
